Former UFC star Michael Bisping has made a shocking revelation about the American social media personality Jake Paul saying that he received an offer to play the latter in a boxing match.
Bisping, 44, is a former UFC middleweight champion who has ruled the Octagon for over 12 years.
Paul will return to the boxing ring for the first time since February 2023 after losing to Tommy Fury by a split decision and is now all set to take on another MMA legend Nate Diaz on August five at the American Airlines Center, Texas.
However, after scoring a poor offer from Paul, Bisping went on to criticise the American for the opponents he has faced since making his professional boxing debut in January 2020.
“The sooner we shut up and stop talking about the little coward Jake Paul, the better it is. Jake Paul sent a contract to my management asking me to box him a while ago," Bisping told Betway.
“I said ‘yeah sure’ if you up the offer a little bit. And then guess what, we never heard back from him because he's a little p—y and he's picking off smaller guys and non-boxers.
“The one time he fought a boxer, Tommy Fury, he lost. Is he going after the rematch?”
He also talked about Paul’s upcoming fight with Nate saying that he is not even a boxer.
"No. He fights Nate Diaz who is almost 40 and is not a boxer. He can box a little bit, but is a smaller guy that used to fight at 155 pounds.”
It must be noted that Diaz finished his contract with the UFC after a win against Tony Ferguson in the main event of UFC 279 on September 11, 2022, and is now all set to test himself in the boxing ring.
The 38-year-old made his UFC debut in 2007 against Manny Gamburyan with a win. He then went on a five-match winning streak before finally tasting his first defeat in the Octagon at the hands of Clay Guida in January 2009 at UFC 94.
